Sometimes you need storage solutions to be practical and not take up valuable space. When you need a little corner in the dining room fixed up, space under a mirror in the bedroom to place toiletries on, or need somewhere in the hallway to pop your post and keys on when you get in, a console table is a great idea. Luckily we have a nice range in stock just now.
What makes a console table unique?
Unlike a shelf or normal table, console tables are seen as accent furniture due to their usually thinner look, meaning it doesn’t get in the way as much.
They are very common in homes were people would have a dedicated table for their home phones in the living room or hall. Some people tend to call them a sideboard, sofa table or the telephone table.
What size is a console
There is no universal standard, but it is common for a console table to be no more than 76cm high, 170cm long and (most importantly) no wider than 50cm. The idea is that the table is always slimmer than a normal table.
Do you have any traditional console tables?
Traditionally, console tables were slim because they would only have two legs and would need to be screwed in to a wall. Nowadays, it is more common to have a four legged table you can move around anywhere you like, but from time to time we may get one in stock that conforms to the traditional look.
Can console tables have mirrors?
It’s quite rare to get a console table with a mirror built in, and people will usually just have a table they can pop under a mirror in their bedroom or hallway. Having oversized mirrors on top of console tables is a popular trend right now as well.
What shape console tables does Ayrshire Bed Company have?
We have tables in the classic oval design, contemporary rectangular shape and some tables with ornate finishes on the legs.
